These terms and conditions ("Terms") govern your use of VanLifeUK.com (the "Site"), operated as an independent UK vanlife and campervan community website. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

These Terms are intended for users in the United Kingdom. They do not constitute legal advice. You may wish to take independent advice before entering into any transaction relating to a vehicle or rental.

1. About VanLifeUK

VanLifeUK publishes guides, articles, place information, community links, and may publish or host listings for campervans and motorhomes offered for sale or hire by third parties. Unless we state otherwise in writing, we provide information and listing space only - we are not a vehicle dealer, broker, rental company, insurer, or financial adviser.

2. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Site lawfully and respectfully. You must not:

  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings or content;
  • Infringe intellectual property, privacy, or other rights;
  • Upload malware, scrape the Site excessively, or attempt unauthorised access;
  • Harass other users or use the Site for unlawful purposes;
  • Circumvent security or advertising/consent mechanisms when implemented.

We may remove content, suspend access, or refuse listings that breach these Terms or that we reasonably consider harmful to users or the Site.

3. Listings: vans for sale and rentals

Where the Site displays vehicles or rentals for sale or hire:

  • Listings are submitted by third-party sellers, owners, or rental providers ("Listing Parties"), not by VanLifeUK;
  • VanLifeUK does not own, inspect, warrant, or guarantee listed vehicles unless we explicitly say so on a specific page;
  • Any contract for sale, purchase, hire, or rental is strictly between the relevant Listing Party and the buyer, seller, renter, or rentee ("you" and "them") - not with VanLifeUK;
  • You are responsible for verifying identity, ownership, condition, mileage, service history, MOT, tax, insurance, hire terms, deposits, cancellations, and compliance with law before paying or travelling.

4. User content and forum

Comments, forum posts (including via linked community platforms), images, and other material you submit ("User Content") must be accurate to the best of your knowledge and must not breach these Terms. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and moderate User Content on the Site and related channels. Community forums may have separate rules - follow those as well.

5. Intellectual property

Site design, branding, and original editorial content are protected by copyright and other rights. You may view and share links for personal, non-commercial use. You must not copy substantial parts of the Site or use our branding without permission. Third-party trademarks belong to their owners.

6. Advertising

We may display third-party advertising (including Google advertising services) now or in the future. Advertisers are responsible for their ads. Our Privacy policy and Cookie policy explain how advertising and cookies may work.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site and content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that guides, listings, or user content are complete, current, or suitable for your circumstances.

8. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be limited under UK law. Subject to that, VanLifeUK shall not be liable for any loss arising from:

  • Transactions or disputes between you and any Listing Party or other user;
  • Reliance on guides, listings, or User Content without your own checks;
  • Travel, camping, wild camping, or road use decisions you make;
  • Third-party sites, ads, or services linked from the Site.

Our total liability to you for claims relating to the Site in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of £100 or the amount you paid us directly for Site services in that period (if any).

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify VanLifeUK against reasonable losses arising from your breach of these Terms, unlawful User Content, or misrepresentation in a listing you submit.

10. Privacy and cookies

Our Privacy policy and Cookie policy form part of your agreement with us and explain how we process personal data.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date will change when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised Terms.

12. Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts in England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer rights in Scotland or Northern Ireland where applicable.
