Why VanLifeUK.com?

There are plenty of websites about travelling around the UK, but we wanted to create somewhere that brings the different sides of vanlife together.

That means campsite reviews, places to visit, walks, beaches, travel guides, campervan trips and practical information that can help you plan your next adventure.

We're particularly interested in the details that don't always show up in a standard travel guide.

  • What's the campsite actually like?
  • Are the pitches level?
  • Can you get there easily in a campervan?
  • What's the walk to the beach really like?
  • Is there decent mobile signal?
  • What's nearby?

Sometimes those little details can make a big difference when you're travelling in a van.

Real places, real experiences

We're not trying to make every destination sound perfect.

If we've stayed somewhere, we'll tell you what we thought about it. If there's something worth knowing before you visit, we'll try to include it. And when we're writing about somewhere we haven't personally visited, we'll make that clear.

We're also taking our own photographs wherever possible, so you can see the places we're talking about rather than relying entirely on stock images.

More than just a website

VanLifeUK isn't intended to be just a collection of articles.

Alongside the main website, we're building a community forum where vanlifers can share their own experiences, ask questions, swap advice and talk about the places they've visited.

The idea is that the website provides useful information and inspiration, while the community can add the experiences and knowledge of people who are actually out there travelling.

Over time, we'd also like VanLifeUK to become a useful place to discover campsites, destinations, campervans, trips, builds and other things that are part of the UK vanlife community.

We're still building

VanLifeUK is a growing project, and we're starting with the things we enjoy most, getting out in the van, exploring new places, taking photographs and writing about what we find.

We're not trying to pretend we've travelled everywhere or know everything about vanlife.

Instead, we're learning and building the site as we go.
